Delivering a great Elevator Speech

Video published on February 4, 2017

Sometimes you only have two minutes to get your point across. You might be talking with your employer, pitching to a potential customer or meeting a new supplier for the first time – a good elevator speech will get your conversation off to a strong, confident start.

Elevator speeches are not just for first impressions, they are an essential part of your day-to-day communications toolkit. A good elevator speech contains a powerful message, persuasive language, relevant case studies and, most importantly, you. You should have one to describe what you do, what your team does, what your company does or what your project does.

Storey’s training will equip you with the tools and techniques you need to prepare and deliver elevator speeches to a variety of audiences in different scenarios.

The course teaches you how to systematically think about your audiences and their interests; how to identify your key message; how to structure and practice your elevator speech and concludes with public speaking advice to help you deliver it with confidence.

Delegates who have done the elevator pitch course with Storeys told our tutors that they improved their outcomes in: budget settlements; media interviews; sales and pitches for sponsorship; funding bids; presentations and speeches.
